Plan was simple, rent a bicycle or a bike and roam around. But when we looked at the map and the distances between, cycling full day looked difficult and two wheeler was costly. We opted for a auto, so that we don’t have to keep searching, no worries of parking and the auto driver also agreed to act like a guide.
Auto driver, was bit senty, said “My name is Tausif but from today have changed it to Punith”.. a die hard fan of late actor Punith who was expired recently. People in chowks were mourning in front of big posters and candles and flowers..
Hiring auto turned out to be best option especially if you are first timer to Hampi. He took us to all the locations which I wanted to visit. His additional historical inputs added as a cherry. It’s very difficult to pick one best out of it. Still my favourites were Lotus mahal, ugra Narsimha and the stone chariot that once use to run.
Best part is there is no entry ticket to any of it except one. Skill full engineering makes you wonder how they did it 700years back.
