Hampi - 3

When we reached Hampi, it was pretty dark, it had rained and was a power cut in the small villages before. Hampi was then looked like a below average rural place and for a moment i doubted my decision to visit Hampi.

Next day morning started with a loud noises and we were startled. We rushed to the door and what we saw was hilarious. There were atleast 10 to 15 monkeys right in the varandah and lot many of them were jumping on the roof. The owner of the property was running behind them with a slingshot.
Weather was not a hot and humid typical humpi one, but it was cloudy, windy and cold. We decided to climb the Matanga hills to get the glimpse of Hampi from atop.
Matanga hills have a lot of mythology stories associated. Its the blace where Sugriva was hiding to save from Vali as mentioned in Ramayana.
Our tradition of missing out the routes continued and instead of climbing the hills, we reached to the magnificent Achyutraya Temple which is behind the hills.
I don’t have any words to describe it. I will let the pictures speaks to itself. It was then the moment that I realised that if rest of the Hampi is like this, then there is no point in clicking it. The vastness, the beauty cannot just fit into a camera, it won’t do any justice.
What pictures followed after were just clicked to document the memories.

We were in awe with what we saw this early morning..
