Hampi - 2

“Ab koi tension nahi senorita”, i might have said when we finally started for Hampi, as within 4hrs we hit a situation while crossing the Maharashtra- Karnataka border.
We were asked to present latest RTPCR report. I was totally not aware of this. We were carrying our both the vaccination certificates but not the test reports. Thankfully the officer said, antigen is also okay.
We had to turn back and enter a near by city Kagal, in search of test labs. Luckily found one and our tests were also done. The fact that we just had our second dose a week back.. and the overheard theories of how the antigen report can be positive if tested immediately after the vaccination was adding to the threats.
Thankfully after an hour an half we got our reports.. Negative it said, we crossed the border. Though it costed us a good 2hrs of delay.
With not much options on highway for lunch, we entered Dharwad. Lucky enough, we found a good restaurant immediately. I thought let's enter city more, buy the Dharwad special Pedha n exit. But that turned out to be the biggest mistake. All the sign boards within the city were in Kannada, very few people could understand hindi or english, the net connectivity was gone and when phone was restarted, google maps also turned into Kannada.
We kept circling within the city, asking for directions.. and finally after an hour and half exited from Hubali.. another delay
After hubali the road was amazing.. no tolls, no work in progress patches, no speed bumps and no pot holes. Feeling was like driving on an airstrip. Either side of the road were either windmills or acres n acres of sunflower plantation.
Swift was knocking 140 to 150 at ease.
Weather was amazing, sun was behind the clouds and it drizzled for a while.
Finally after all the hurdles we reached Hampi at around 7pm.
